1. About this policy
24 Moons PTY LTD ("24 Moons", "we", "us" or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose information when you visit our public website and links page, contact us or interact with website content.
Subscriptions, subscriber information, email delivery and email engagement are covered in the Newsletter Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. That document is the primary notice for newsletter-specific matters and should be read with this policy and our Cookie Notice.
Internal accounts are covered by the Staff Portal, Admin Portal and Webmail Privacy Policy.
2. Information you provide
Enquiries. Our contact form collects your name, email address, enquiry type, message and any optional phone number or other information you provide. We use this information to respond, manage your enquiry and maintain relevant business records. Contacting us does not automatically subscribe you to marketing.
Newsletter subscriptions. Signup asks for your first name, email address and an affirmative choice to receive marketing. Subscription terms, provider handling, retention, unsubscribe rights and subscriber-linked tracking are explained in the Newsletter Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Joining the newsletter does not enable optional website analytics or advertising.
Other people's information. Provide only what is necessary and make sure you have appropriate authority to share it. Avoid including sensitive personal information in general enquiry forms unless necessary for your enquiry.
3. Our own site statistics
We use our own measurement system to understand which parts of the website are useful and improve the visitor experience. It has two distinct types of measurement.
Anonymous interaction counts
We count uses of selected links, buttons and page controls. Records include:
- the page or website area where the interaction occurred;
- the selected element or published content, such as an event, article, recording, gallery item, partner link, social link or directions link;
- the action taken, such as opening content or selecting a ticket link;
- the date and time, including reporting by day and hour in Melbourne time;
- a randomly generated identifier for the individual interaction to prevent duplicate counting.
These records do not contain your name, email address, IP address, location, browser details, referring website, form contents or a visitor/session identifier linking your separate clicks together. These counts continue when optional Analytics and Marketing are declined. They do not use an analytics cookie to recognise you.
More detailed statistics with Analytics permission
When you allow Analytics, our own system can also record:
- page views and approximate browsing-session counts;
- website sections viewed;
- published events, articles, recordings and other content viewed or selected;
- ticket-link clicks;
- successful newsletter signups and contact enquiries, without the submitted information;
- broad referral categories: direct, Google, Facebook, Instagram, Resident Advisor, YouTube, SoundCloud or other;
- general device categories, browser family, operating system and preferred browser language;
- your browser's time zone;
- approximate country and city, where supplied by our hosting network;
- a recognised newsletter campaign associated with a visit;
- event dates and times.
A random session key, stored in event records as a protected hash, groups activity within a browsing session. These records are pseudonymous, rather than completely anonymous. The reporting interface presents totals and summaries.
These statistics do not store names, email addresses, phone numbers, form text, IP addresses, street addresses, full referring URLs or arbitrary URL query strings. Recognised newsletter campaign labels are recorded separately. Newsletter email clicks are a separate, subscriber-linked process described in the Newsletter Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Local measurement records are scheduled for deletion after 90 days. These limits apply to our measurement records; hosting and security systems separately process network information needed to deliver and protect the website.
4. Google Analytics and Consent Mode
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand website traffic and use. Our Google tag loads on public pages using Google Consent Mode. Analytics and advertising storage permissions default to denied unless a valid saved choice grants them.
When Analytics storage is declined, the tag can still send cookieless consent and measurement signals to Google. Google may use these for statistical modelling. Therefore, choosing Essential only does not prevent every connection or measurement request to Google. Cookieless processing should not be confused with our own anonymous interaction counts. Google's Consent Mode explanation.
With Analytics permission, Google can use analytics cookies to distinguish browsers and sessions. Information can include page addresses, referral information, interaction data, cookie identifiers, device/browser details and approximate location. Your browser communicates directly with Google, which receives network information including your IP address. How Google uses information from partner sites.
Our Marketing choice also controls the Google advertising-storage, advertising-data and personalisation consent signals. Actual advertising features depend on our Google account and integration settings. We do not intentionally send contact-form messages, names or email addresses to Google Analytics.
You can change your choices through Cookie settings. This changes the relevant permissions; it does not erase information already received by Google or prevent the cookieless signals described above.
5. Meta Pixel
We use Meta Pixel to measure advertising performance and support relevant advertising on Meta services, including Facebook and Instagram. It loads when you allow Marketing.
Meta receives page-view events and may process page addresses, browser/device details, IP addresses and cookie or advertising identifiers. Meta may connect this information with information it already holds, including information associated with a Facebook or Instagram account. This is separate from our anonymous site counts.
Tracking pixels can involve personal information even where the website operator receives summary reports. See OAIC tracking pixel guidance.
Decline or withdraw Marketing through Cookie settings and manage broader preferences through your Meta account. See Meta's Privacy Policy.
6. Newsletter engagement
Newsletter tracking images and links can associate email opens, clicks, campaign details and event times with your subscriber record. This is not anonymous website measurement. Website cookie settings do not disable tracking inside an email or a tracked email redirect.
See the Newsletter Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for the full explanation, including delivery providers, possible segmentation and follow-up emails, tracking limitations, retention, privacy requests and unsubscribe rights.
7. Embedded content, maps and external websites
Our website includes content and links from ticketing platforms, social networks, media providers, maps and external image hosts.
Supported consent-controlled players, including YouTube and SoundCloud embeds, load when you allow the relevant media or provider permission. Providers may then receive technical information and use their own cookies.
The embedded Google Map currently connects to Google when the map loads. It is separate from Google Analytics and is not currently controlled by our optional media setting.
Some published images load directly from external hosts, which receive information needed to deliver them. Instagram photos stored on our website do not, by themselves, load an Instagram tracking script.
Opening an external link takes you to a service governed by its own privacy practices. A ticket-link click on our website does not establish that a purchase was completed.
8. Cookies and your choices
Cookies and browser storage operate the website, secure forms and remember preferences. The Cookie Notice explains the categories, storage and controls, including Google Consent Mode and the map exception.
Optional categories start off. You can change your choices through Cookie settings. Closing a popup or continuing to browse does not grant optional permission. Marketing email consent is a separate choice governed by the Newsletter Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
9. How we use and share personal information
We use information to respond to enquiries, provide requested information, operate and improve the website, measure website and advertising performance as disclosed, protect against misuse and security incidents, meet legal obligations and resolve complaints.
Authorised staff and providers supporting hosting, email, analytics, advertising, security and maintenance may handle relevant information. We may disclose information to professional advisers or authorities where reasonably necessary and legally permitted or required.
We do not sell enquiry contact details. Advertising-related disclosures are described above. Mailing-list uses and disclosures are separately explained in the Newsletter Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
10. Overseas handling
Providers including Google and Meta operate internationally. Information may be processed or accessed outside Australia. We take reasonable steps required by applicable law to protect information handled by providers.
For newsletter provider locations, see the Newsletter Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
11. Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect information against misuse, loss and unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure. No internet service can guarantee complete security.
Information is kept for as long as reasonably necessary for its purpose and applicable legal, accounting, complaint-handling and security requirements. When no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it, subject to legal obligations and backup processes.
Our own website measurement records have a scheduled 90-day retention period. Google and Meta retention is separate. Newsletter records are governed by the retention provisions in the Newsletter Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, not this 90-day period.
12. Access, correction and complaints
Email info@24moons.com.au, addressed to the Privacy Officer, to request access or correction or make a privacy complaint. We may verify your identity and will consider requests under applicable law and explain any lawful refusal.
We aim to respond to privacy complaints within 30 days. If more time is needed, we will explain why and provide an expected date. This does not extend any shorter legal deadline.
If dissatisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where it has jurisdiction. We cannot identify individual anonymous click records because they contain no visitor identifier.
For subscription-specific requests and unsubscribe options, see the Newsletter Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our website, practices or legal obligations change. We will publish the current version and effective date and provide additional notice of material changes where appropriate.
